Water Dale West

Water Dale is a long valley extending east and west of Thixendale village. The open access in the western limb consists of parts the main dale and of two side dales to the south. A road runs along the main valley bottom. All the parcels appealed against belong to the Halifax Estates, except Dimple Hole which belongs to the Birdsall Estate. Part of the dale is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
