Being open-minded

With the first OS 6 devices just around the corner, I decided that I wanted to be a bit more open-minded in my assessment of the latest offerings. I have had the loan of a Zaurus twice over the past year and so have a bit of a sense of what Linux on a PDA is like (and what it is like trying to connect to a Mac). So now it is time to take the plunge and find out about PPC. Last time I looked at a Windows powered PDA it was an NEC clamshell running WinCE. I hated it. This time I have been offered the loan of an XDA2.

I am hoping to discover three things from this experience:
  1. What a well-specified PPC device is capable of doing.
  2. Whether I like convergent devices.
  3. Whether a Mac user can work with a PPC device.
With respect to the last: take a good look at the background image on this link. Is that an iMac I see? Would Trading Standards take this as implying that the thing will work with a Mac?
