My research is in Computer Vision and Machine Learning,
with an emphasis on 3D imaging, shape analysis, shape modelling and deep learning - and
I am a member of the Vision, Graphics and Learning (VGL) research group at York (UK).
I co-edited a graduate text entitled: 3D Imaging, Analysis and Applications, now in its second edition and significantly updated in 2020.
I was awarded a Senior Research Fellowship by the Royal Academy of Engineering to work on 3D Morphable Models (3DMMs) of the human head and
have received two Google Faculty Awards sponsoring follow on work. This involved development and use of the Headspace dataset and the Liverpool-York Head Model.
Recently, I received a Royal Society International Exchange grant (2023) to work on respiratory disease diagnosis using self-supervised learning.
