Question 2. How would you interpret this regression equation?

Suggested answer

The multiple regression equation is:

        BMI = 21.3 + 0.057 × alcohol consumption + 1.93 × sex

where sex = 1 for a female and sex = 2 for a male.

This tells us that BMI is larger for men and for women who drink more alcohol, increasing by 0.057 Kg per m² for each unit of alcohol per week.

It tells us that men have a larger mean BMI, by 1.93 Kg per m², than do women who report consuming the same amount of alcohol.
