Question 2: What kind of variable is health status?

Suggested answer

People are divided into several different groups. This is a qualitative, categorical, or nominal variable.

The categories have a clear order from ‘Excellent’ (best) to ‘Poor’ (worst). Hence we have a qualitative variable with ordered categories.
