In this task, participants are required to listen to a test rhythmical phrase that is accented to imply a particular meter. The participants then must identify that same rhythm from a selection of specimen rhythms. The specimens will be the same as the original test rhythm by way of durational make-up, but will be accented in such a way as to imply alternative meters to that of the original.

Initially, participants are expected to choose from three specimens; this later increases to four.
