Histology

Kystis works with Histotech to deliver high-quality histological assessment of both tissues and tissue models to its customers. Histotech has evaluated Kystis' HBT1 model against the normal human tissue with a wide range of urothelial differentiation markers. The immunolabelling of cells and tissues shown below illustrates the intensity and localisation of a subset of proteins that fall into three distinct groups;

Cytokeratins (structural proteins which act as differentiation-stage markers in epithelia)
Claudins (tight junction proteins involved in transcellular barrier function)
Uroplakins (apical membrane proteins implicated in paracellular barrier function)

We are happy to discuss a much wider range of histological and cellular biomarkers for function, signal transduction or response that may have application in your studies.
